Australia Triumphs over England in Second Ashes Test

In a thrilling encounter, Australia emerged victorious over England by 43 runs in the second Test match of the Ashes series. The match, held at the historic Lord's Stadium, provided an exciting display of cricket over its five-day duration.

England's Chase Falls Short

On the fifth day of the Test match, England's pursuit of a target of 371 runs came to an end as they were bowled out for 327 runs. Despite the valiant efforts of their captain, Ben Stokes, who played a magnificent inning of 155 runs, England lacked support from the rest of the team.

Contributions from Ben Duckett and Bowling Trio

Apart from Ben Stokes, opener Ben Duckett also made a significant contribution to the English team's chase with his knock of 82 runs. However, Australia's bowlers, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood, proved to be formidable opponents, each taking three wickets, while Cameron Green claimed one wicket.

Steve Smith's Heroics Earn Him Man of the Match

Steve Smith, who had already impressed with a century (110) in the first innings of the Lord's Test and 34 runs in the second innings, was rightfully awarded the man of the match accolade for his outstanding performance.

Australia Takes a 2-0 Series Lead

With this Test victory, Australia has taken a commanding 2-0 series lead over the English team. The third match of the Ashes series is scheduled to be held at Headingley, Leeds, starting from July 6.
