South Africa is one of the best teams of international cricket but like ODI world cup, South Africa has also not won any T20 world cup so far. South Africa has participated in all the previous 5 T20 world cup tournaments while the South African team reached the semi finals of 2009 world cup and 2014 world cup. South Africa has so far played 26th matches in ICC T20 world cup tournaments. The team won 16 matches, lost 10 matches and the winning percentage is 61.53%. In ICC T20 rankings, South Africa is at the 6th spot.


Batsman Faf du Plesis is the captain of South Africa T20 team. Other main players in the South African team are Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, David Miller, Rilee Rossouw, Justin Ontong, R Hendricks, Q de Kock, Ryan McLaren, Farhaan Behardien, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, Kyle Abbott, Dale Steyn, Wayne Parnell and Morne Morkel.


These players performed very superbly in recent times especially Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are in a very good form in international cricket and these players are capable enough to take their team to their first ever victory in ICC T20 world cup tournaments.
